Just before a year I have heard about this place, although monuments are years old but thnx to Gujarat tourism to develop this place as a major tourist attraction.
Dark rain forest of Aravali range of mountains are waiting to get explored, one of the best weekend get away in north Gujarat, polo forest is just 152 km away from Ahmedabad.

By Road : it is 152 kms away from Ahmedabad, drive on NH48 and follow the sign boards of places.
By air : Ahmedabad is the nearest major airport. From there hire a taxi and drive to polo forest.
By train : If you are a train lover and want to go by train, there are direct trains from Ahmedabad to himmatnagar, from himmatnagar you have to hire a taxi only.

Best time to visit Polo Forest
From August to December is considered best time to visit this place. Especially in monsoon season the beauty of this place in unbelievable. Hiking in the rain is one of the wonderful experience one can ever have.
Food
There isn’t any better food options near the forest, so better take a pack lunch with you or you have to go far away to the nearest city idar to take a lunch. nd take palenty of water too with you. Although snacks and packaged wafers and some biscuits are available there. But that isn’t a healthy food for trekker.
What to explore ?
One of the best destination for one day trekking, i recommend to go early in the morning nearly about 7 O’clock and explore the trail till afternoon.
For professionals of wildlife there are many things to explore in th the flora and fauna of this place.
Take a guide with you, they will cost only 500 to 700 rs. Per day, and will take you the beautiful jungle which is not easily accessible for tourists.
Polo forest has an enchanting and relaxed atmosphere which makes its surroundings ideal for lazy hikes through the forest. With other activities such as bird watching and cultural programmes available during the Polo Mahotsav, which happens during the beginning of the year, Polo makes for an ideal weekend getaway.
The Surya Mandir, shiv mandir, Jain derasar, lakhena temple are some of the architectures found in the ruins of the Polo City.
It is significant to know that as a visitors to approach each destination and its inhabitants we should take prior care about the environment and diversity over there. Each place is meant for reasons, after years of evolution some species and humans have grown to adapt to that environment and we must not disturb it for the sake of our own happiness.
