We travel, go on vacations, go on camping to hill station or to forest or any such place which can connect us to the nature where we can enjoy the beauty of God’s creation and feel peace. It can also be experienced more deeply by tent living or Yurt rather living in Hotel or Lodges.Tent living screams “simple living,” and is a great way to get in touch with what is really important in life.
Taking shelter in a tent can be an extremely challenging and exhausting task for inexperienced campers. Your tent should have all your basic necessities where you can get a significant impact on the comfort and safety of your campsite. Your tent should be large and have comfortable area for your stay, one can also use a small rake or similar tool to brush away any sticks, stones or tree branches that might poke you while you sleep. If you do not have a rake, you can use your foot to clean your site of debris once the area is cleaned lay your sleeping bag or mattress over the area and test the comfort.
When you’re in nature, you don’t have to look in mirrors. Instead, enjoy and feel the scenic beauty around you, and experience the thrill and adventure while climbing, setting up a tent and understanding the landscape gardener
Camping(tent living) in The Forest
I remember the words by jennifer mcmahon ” tresss had spirits; the wind spokes. if you followed a toad or a raven deep into the heart of the forest, they were sure to lead you to something magical.”
One can explore nature and learn the facts about what nature has given us and what we can give in return. Forests have a diversity of soil types. Some soils are hard to penetrate with stakes and other soils are loamy and will not hold stakes well. You will be one with natural surroundings around you, and it may take you quite a while to get used to new sounds.
One will love the waking up sounds of birds singing outside the tent, the sunshine with cold wind howling through the lush green trees ,the creeping sound of leaves refreshes us for the day ahead, the dark nights with fireflies creates the atmosphere of forest carnival and most of all one can also have an amazing experience of the rain sounds tickle your heads when you sleep in tent.
” Trees had spirits; the wind spokes. if you followed a toad or a raven deep into the heart of the forest, they were sure to lead you to something magical.”
Camping in The Snow
“snow was falling like stars, filling the dark trees that could easily imagine its reason for being was nothing more than prettiness.” – Mary Oliver
If you’re making tent living in Snow Mountains, then it requires some different gear and technique but it has a lot of fun and adventure of living in tent so if it’s very windy, you can pile the snow on the sides of the hole to help break the wind. When you traveling to such place it is advisable to live in group tent or travel in group as it helps to stay warm and one can help even if you get any health issues. Carry enough blankets which could protect you from cold winds or snowfall and can keep you warm in tent. Arrange for campfire outside the tent so you can sleep easily at night.
It is a beautiful experience camping in snow, experiencing the snow flake for the God’s most fragile creation, early morning fog, deep silence of the winter woods and the dues sparkling like tiny droplets of pearl on it. Blooming Flowers of different colors blossom the atmosphere and Sun rays spreading it’s horizon of new hope, inspiration and delight. The sweet moments of having coffee in freezing cold coffee mugs in laps of nature with Sun throwing warm light and cherish every bit of nature, one can always feel and experience while Snow Camping.
The tent i use for outdoor camping is Quechua Arpenaz 2 Tent which is quite affordable and can easily accomodate 2 person at a time. The material of tent is quite good and can protect you nicely from sun light.
Camping or tent living is perhaps the best way to enjoy the natural outdoors and being part of the life of its people. You can carry your own gear along or opt for any one of the several camps pitched in various parts of the state. We have been part of Youth Hostel Association of India for our first camping and first tent experience which was amazing and would always ready to live in tent for any next expedition.
Don’t Leave Your Mark on the Land
In order for everyone to be able to appreciate Mother Nature’s gifts for many years to come, remember your environmental responsibilities. Dispose of your waste properly and do not leave any trace of your visit, on your campsite when you leave. As a general rule of thumb, don’t leave your “footprint” on the earth.
